Languages Center will arrange Tutor Hours so that students, individually or collectively, can seek extra assistance for their inquiries or problems. The faculty members can provide advice, assistance and information about English language learning or resources. Students can discuss their learning needs and goals, create learning plans and discuss available resources and learning progress. The service aims to help students learn to:

Assess their language learning needs
Set independent learning goals
Plan their studies
Find appropriate resources to meet their needs

The role of the advisory services does not proofread or act as instructors (to give course instruction). The role is to:

Offer general and specific advice on language learning
Encourage students to be independent learners
Help students identify their English strengths, weaknesses and needs
Guide students in choosing resources in the Language Center
Help students make English learning plans to develop their career English skills
Help students to explore test-taking strategies which are appropriate for personal needs
