一、活動名稱：世界文化微型課程：世界光明慶典Festivals of Light Around the World

二、子計畫名稱：

R T1-1-1-3-1 在地全球化課程實踐 (文化、多益、必修英文、菁英英文、跨領域…等課程/講座)

三、活動主旨：光明節慶在世界各地有著不同的形式和意義。當北半球進入十月、十一月，白天逐漸縮短，黑夜延長，人們更渴望用燈火來驅散黑暗。從印度排燈節點亮的油燈、猶太光明節的燭台、泰國水燈節的河燈，到歐洲聖馬丁節的小提燈遊行，以及萬聖節的南瓜燈籠，燈火象徵著希望、團結與更新。本課程將以 Oxford Read and Discover 3《Festivals around the World》 的相關章節為基礎，帶領學生透過文字與影片探索世界各地的重要光明節慶，理解它們的文化背景與意涵，並學習相關的英語詞彙與表達方式。課程設計輕鬆有趣，包含小組討論、互動問答，以及一場 趣味英語問答遊戲，表現優異的學生還可贏得甜蜜小獎品！透過這些活動，學生不僅能增進英語能力，還能體驗不同文化如何透過「光」來傳遞意義。

Course description:

Festivals of light take many different forms and meanings around the world. In the northern hemisphere, October and November bring shorter days and longer nights, which historically inspired people to use light to ward off darkness. From the oil lamps of Diwali in India and the menorah of Hanukkah, to the floating candles of Thailand’s Loy Krathong, the lantern processions of St. Martin’s Day in Europe, and the jack-o’-lanterns of Halloween, light symbolizes hope, unity, and renewal. Using the Oxford Read and Discover 3: Festivals around the World as a starting point, this course guides students through texts and videos to explore the cultural background and significance of major light festivals, while practicing related English vocabulary and expressions. The course is designed to be interactive and engaging, featuring group discussions, audiovisual materials, and a lively fun quiz game with sweet prizes for top performers. Through these activities, students will not only improve their English skills but also discover how different cultures use “light” to express meaning and bring people together.

九、活動執行方式：

(一)   報名方式：語言中心網站報名

(二)   招生人數/報名截止日：30個人

(三)  活動宣傳：語言中心網站、校園海報、老師們口頭宣傳等

(四)   Language Buffet自學加0.5分。

(五)   全程參與並完成課程指定之學習任務者可獲微型課程時數3小時。
